Yesterday March 14th, The President of Iceland Mr. Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson formally opened the Reykjavik Fashion Festival 2013 and held an wonderful speech in honor of the Icelandic fashion design. Roxanne Lowit, RFF’s guest of honor along with all of our dear guests came together at the Hotel Borg and celebrated the opening with a new cocktail Reyka Bitter Lemonade by REYKA.
Atli Freyr Einarsson, managing director of the transportation company – DHL in Iceland awarded an export grant to one of our participating designers: JÖR by GUÐMUNDUR JÖRUNDSSON.
Rannveig Hrönn Brink, marketing director of the Coca-Cola Light in Iceland gave a speech about the importance of supporting Icelandic fashion design and awarded Ásgrímur Már Friðriksson, student from Icalandic Academy of the Arts with an recognition for being chosen by Atelier Kontrast, an multidisciplinary design agency from Germany, to collaborate with Coca-Cola Light to make an installation for Reykjavík Fashion Festival 2013.
The party went amazingly well and DJ Margeir kept the crowd entertained for the night!
